A little help
getting connected.

Open setup. Use your existing dot’s name and your own mobile number, including the country code. Connect the ChatGPT plugin, ask your dot to turn on replies, then open its prepared Messages link and tap Send. That one text verifies your phone and starts the first hello for an enabled account. Dotline confirms phone verification right away; full setup is confirmed after your actual dot reply is delivered.

The current Dotline number is shared. Each verified phone is connected privately to its own account and dot. Creating a profile does not buy a dedicated number. If setup says a line is unavailable, contact support.

Installation connects the tools; your dot also needs to turn on its message monitor. Ask it to add iMessage to itself using Dotline. Your setup page shows whether it’s listening. Keep your existing connection and monitor rather than creating another.

The prepared code links your phone to your signed-in account. Tap Send once; no copying is needed. Your verification is confirmed in Messages, and an enabled account sends that same first hello to your dot automatically.

Native name and photo sharing is enabled on the shared number using the Dotline profile. Messages may offer to update the name and photo. To keep your dot’s own name, such as Alfred, save the personalized contact card instead.

See the account requirements. Existing subscribers should check that the plugin uses the same ChatGPT account as their Dotline setup. Installing the plugin does not start a subscription.

Recent replies took about 30 seconds, and timing varies. Check your connection before retrying. Don’t ask your dot to repeat a failed or uncertain send; review the delivery status in Manage texting.

The shared Dotline number currently connects you with your dot. Texting other people from the shared line is unavailable.

Messages exchanged with the dot’s line, the verified owner number, added contacts, drafts, delivery status, and approval records are stored to route the conversation. They are processed through Sendblue and your connected ChatGPT dot. Your personal Apple Messages history is not imported.
